Join the TXG Rapid Improvement Revolution!

You will gain the most important skill on the guitar which is "Getting Better At Getting Better".

Define -> Design -> Refine

In the unique training program, we will walk you step-by-step through how to "Define" your goals on the guitar, then "Design" a program (with a clear Roadmap) that will allow you to achieve those goals.  Finally, and this is the most important aspect... we're going to help you consistently "Refine" your approach to get a far greater "Return On Effort" (ROE) from your practice and playing.

THE SECRET FORMULA THAT TRULY LEADS TO RAPID IMPROVEMENT ON THE GUITAR

Get Lifetime Access to the TenX Training Program

The TenX Training Program will give you a clear, individualized Roadmap, that will walk you step-by-step through developing the skills and techniques necessary to play the guitar the way you've always dreamed of.

  • MAKE FOCUS A PRIORITY: This is the #1 Key Principle to getting better on the guitar in the most predictable way.

  • GO DEEP ON EVERYTHING: The second most important Principle is to take each and everything you are focused on to a Very High Level (this is the ONLY way it becomes truly "Usable" in your guitar playing).

  • MAKE REAL MUSIC WITH YOUR NEW SKILLS: Learning skills and techniques on the guitars are all for "not" if you don't use what you're learning musically.  This means playing the songs you've always wanted to play and taking your skills to a level where you truly sound musical!

  • PLAY IN THE SITUATIONS YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO: You'll be able to with friends at house parties, or around the campfire. Even play with other musicians in jam sessions or as part of a band.

  • PERFORM IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE: By learning how to practice "as if" you're performing in front of others, you'll be ready when someone asks you the "dreaded" question "Hey, play something for me".

  • TAKE YOUR PLAYING TO A LEVEL WHERE YOU CAN ENTERTAIN OTHERS: There is nothing more fun than seeing the excitement in other people's faces when you are truly entertaining them with your music.  This will be so much fun!

THREE PASSIONATE "STUDENTS" OF GUITAR

FOUNDER & COACH

Dean Strickler (aka Deano)

Dean is an entrepreneur, productivity hacker, guitarist, golfer, husband and father.  He’s spent nearly his entire adult life as an entrepreneur.  His last "real job” was back in 1987, right about the time he walked on fire with Tony Robbins.  So, you might say he has Tony to thank for all those sleepless nights trying to figure out how he was going to make payroll on Friday.... and oh-yeah, believing that ANYTHING is possible when you discover how to turn Fear (and Doubt) into Power.

That's when he became infatuated with what allowed some people to become wildly successful, at all types of worthy endeavors, while others struggled.  He would then spend the next 30 years reading hundreds of books, completing countless courses on every personal development topic you can think of and going to seminars and retreats.

In 2008 he had the good fortune to meet Justin Tupper in Washington DC at one of Yanik Silver's Marketing Mastermind Weekends.  They quickly realized that they a shared passion for golf and decided to team up to change how people got better at the game.   They spent the next 9 years building Revolution Golf and helping thousands of golfers improve. In 2017 they sold the company to The Golf Channel (NBC Sports).

With plenty of free time on his hands, he was then totally infatuated with playing the guitar at a very high level.  On his mission to learn guitar, he uncovered an opportunity to improve another under-optimized online educational system.  What he found was that guitar is literally being taught the same way it was 100 years ago, only instead of one-on-one teaching, instruction was being “broadcast” on YouTube and through one-size-fits-all online educational courses.  It was then that he decided that the online music education system was ripe for disruption.  That was 3 years ago.

HEAD OF PLAYER EXPERIENCE, COACH & CO-CREATOR

Bill Huang (aka BillZo)

Bill started his musical journey as a drummer in 1980 and practiced diligently until life and the impracticalities of a drum set and apartment living converged.  He then took up the bass guitar and worked hard at that for a few years until career and family interrupted that effort.  After becoming an accomplished software developer and leader, he took up bass again in 1999.  He studied with a private instructor and worked diligently for about 6 years.  He ended up giving up bass in frustration because he thought he had no talent and a concrete ear.

A few years went by and he missed music so he decided that he would commit the remainder of his hobby life to guitar.  He had learned a little guitar in the early 80s but never got serious.  This time it was different.  He managed to get his head in the right space and committed without reservation or overly high expectations to practice guitar for the rest of his life and to NEVER sell his last guitar. That was 9 years ago.

Since he started playing bass in 1999, he has worked hard to develop his recording engineering skills and now considers himself at the semi-pro level at recording, mixing and mastering.  Having run sound for and recorded many bands and artists.

In March 2020 Bill joined TenX and things have never been the same for him.  He was able to apply his significant music practice experience to the refinement of the TenX Principles and his technical background to building the TenX platform.  The application of the TenX Principles was the missing piece in his musical practice.  It turns out that Focus was what was missing for him.

Paradoxically, he focused extremely well on each of the instruments he learned but failed to understand the importance of focusing on foundational skills long enough to take them to a high level.  In the past year, he has made major progress as a player and attributes it to the TenX Principles and his discipline and commitment to practice.

HEAD OF MARKETING, COACH & CO-CREATOR

John Quinlan (aka Quinney)

Quinney started playing guitar in the late 70s as a teenager living in London, England.   After a couple of years of playing he shifted to bass when a band he knew needed a bass player.  After that experience he shifted back to guitar and spent time learning scales, riffs, and chords.   Through the years, guitar became less important.  There was college, three children and a 30-year career as an executive at iHeart Radio.   Over the years, he kept a guitar around and picked it up occasionally, but he was far from serious about it.

Then a bunch of guys got together at the golf club to jam and just goof off.  Quinney blew the dust off his old Strat and showed up to play.  He still had some skill and technique, but really did not know what to do with it musically.  Quinney and the guys had so much fun, that they decided to become a real band and scheduled a gig.   Quinney had to learn songs, learn solo lines, and even sing a little. At that point he simply poured himself into all these aspects; attacking them individually.  He went over and over the parts he needed learn.  He took all the technique he already had, and he was suddenly using it musically.

Quinney was using the TenX principles without even knowing it.    His playing improved dramatically over the next couple of years.  He became the band’s lead guitarist and one of the primary lead vocalists.  Quinney decided to test the theories he and Dean were developing around principles of rapid improvement by attacking slide guitar.  He was able to gain real proficiency quickly by applying the  TenX principles.  The process of Quinney learning slide was the first real-world validation of the TenX principles.

The idea of formalizing the principles that are now the foundation of TenX came out of a few conversations between Quinney and Dean about how they were both able to make rapid progress. These general ideas and practices have been refined into the TenX principles and serve as the foundation for the entire learning system.

What TXG Players Are Saying!

The TenX Training Program delivers everything you need to achieve your goals on the guitar... and our Players love it!

Dean, I wanted to reach out and let you know how happy I am with the TenX Guitar program. This is a very unique program that has really helped me bring focus and intention to my practice and playing.

I have been playing guitar for a very long time. I’m no Rock Star and I am generally happy with my playing, but I had sort of reached a plateau and things were a little “flat”. I was going through the motions, but not really making much progress in new areas. This is where the TXG Training Program has really excelled.

You have helped bring back energy, focus, and structure to my playing. Your commitment and enthusiasm are second to none. You are always there to answer questions, make suggestions, and help me think things through.

The website and instruction are super clear. Tim is a terrific instructor. Overall, I could not be happier with my decision to get onboard with the TenX Training Program.

I highly recommend the program to anyone that wants to jumpstart their guitar playing. A great program and a great value!

Yes!  This is really new for me. It is almost like a rebirth or a reset. I was a bit skeptical about a "Rhythm" Path (course) at first. The more I study AND listen to interviews of other great guitarists,  they ALL have a common theme... Rhythm.

Perhaps I just had blinders on, but I can finally see, feel and hear how important it is to be "In the Pocket”. Funny thing, I had not heard that expression before you, but with no exception, I hear that phrase and application used by all my favorite influences (I have been trolling for stories and interviews).

That being said, I continue to look forward to seeing what's new (for me) that TXG has in store.

BTW… thanks for steering me to the drum tracks. Talk with soon and stay safe and well!

ED Blake

I have only been practicing guitar for a little under 2 years now and I have been watching mostly YouTube videos. And during that time viewing those videos I have learned very little. Recently I have joined TXG, a Training Platform that aids you in learning how to play guitar through a comprehensive system, personal help from instructors to guide you through the process to bring you to playing faster and better.

Since I have started I have sent in personal videos of myself playing my guitar and received great advise of methods that can help me improve my playing and speed. Yes, I have to put in the effort and time, but now I have directions, a roadmap if you will, to lead me in the right direction, this in itself can get to your destination so much quicker.

I am so thankful that I have joined the TXG Platform, the structure, the feedback and interaction, that comes from being a member of system that cares about those that join. I recommend anyone that wants to improve their guitar playing, to join this system and bring your playing to the next level!

Jules Sanchez, Jr.

Thank you, Dean, for establishing such a great guitar tearning system. I do appreciate the extra help you provided to get me into it due to my disability. I can tell you that I was really impressed after watching your video on "Goal Setting". You not only provide advice that is helpful with the course, but with life in general. I love our calls, especially the interest and individuality that you put into it. Anyone can see the kind of person and values that you have and I hope that at some point I could count you as one of my friends, I know that so far you are my best mentor. Keep up the great work!

Wolfgang Sanyer

First let me give you a little information about myself.  I am a 80 year guy who has had a lot of experiences in my life.  I am retired military and retired civilian.  I love music and started my musical journey as a drummer in the 50's.  I started playing drums with no experience of even how to hold the drum sticks. I played a right handed set left handed.  I quickly found I had a good sense of rhythm and played with a number of groups.  I also taught myself to play the keyboards, as well as the bass.

So, I decided I wanted to play the guitar.  My wife got me my guitar last Christmas.  Ok ready to kick some guitar butt.  Not so fast. I quickly learned the guitar is a much different animal. The harder I tried the more frustrated I got.  No way I could do this on my own.   I was trying to do this on my own as I had with the other instruments and it was not working.  I was becoming more frustrated and was about ready to give it up.

I started going through the TXG Training process and decided to make a video and send it.  Dean replied to me directly and said that what I was doing was not bad at all, in fact it was pretty good. His feed back told me that I could get to where I wanted to be if I just kept working at it.    Dean's TXG Training coupled with his method of applying the principles of a life coach has really helped me.

I have found that it does not matter who you are using as your guitar instructor, in person, Youtube or otherwise,  we all need some positive feed back, a pat on the back, and a coach to help get us to where we would like to be.
